ABOUT COLLEEN

Welcome to my online Yoga Therapy practice, situated in the tranquil setting of Portland, OR. I am delighted to introduce myself as Colleen Carroll, a lifelong yoga practitioner and devoted teacher. My approach to Yoga Therapy is rooted in the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, TKV Desikachar and the KYM (Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram) in Chennai, India. These practices and philosophies have provided the context for my integration and personal teaching foundation since 2006.

As a Yoga Therapist, I specialize in assisting individuals dealing with unique conditions arising from lifestyle imbalances, injuries or chronic health challenges. My methodology, known as NeuroTherapeutic Yoga, harmonizes Classical Yoga Therapy principles with innovation. It provides a safe and supportive space for those navigating neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, MS, Post-Stroke and more.

My guiding philosophy centers on nurturing a disciplined personal practice that prioritizes self-care and self-awareness. I believe that the breath is at the core of healing, wellness, and a sustained sense of contentment. This belief resonates through my teachings and empowers my students to bring a yoga perspective to every facet of their daily lives.

In my journey, I have evolved from my roles as; Founder of The Thrive Yoga Therapy Clinic at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, CHE, (Clinical Health Educator), guest lecturer with the Neuro Community and CARE foundations. While these experiences have shaped my path, I now find my passion in fostering individual well-being through Yoga Therapy in the digital realm.

Since 2007, I have shared my insights as a guest lecturer at the Neuro Community Foundation, contributing to their annual PD 101 symposium. My tenure as a Health Educator and Yoga Therapy Instructor at Kaiser Permanente witnessed the establishment of Kaiser’s Thrive Yoga Therapy Clinic at the Centers for Healthy Living. This pioneering program has brought the healing potential of yoga to all who seek it.

I invite you to embark on a transformative journey with me, where we co-create a path that embraces your uniqueness and aims for holistic well-being. Together, we will weave the timeless wisdom of yoga into the tapestry of your life.

Warmly, Colleen Carroll
